I have the originals off the low mile 69 Z I am restoring and the repros are nowhere close to correct. The originals are manufactured from coated brown kraft paper.
I have located a company who can coat the paper and diecut the shields, I am now trying to guage interest to figure out if this will be economically feasible, the first ones would be for 68-69 Camaro Coupes.

The price will be equal to or less than the currently available product (Mylar) which is nowhere close to correct.

I appreciate any input and or comments,

Thanks

James:
Having a California car mine are still in great shape, so little interest to me - But ...
I would recommend you send a note to folks like "BelAir Bob" and see if he would have any interest in carring them for resale. You might be able to work out an order that would support the set-up costs and give Bob (or whomever you pick) an exclusive to market them.
By give a retailer the chance to offer a correct part he will be able to move way more of them (read - spread the cost of developement) to the users than attempting to individually market and ship them yourself.
And - way more exposure would make more aware of their availability ;)

As always JMHO's

Isn't Mylar a plastic? If it is, the ones I just installed were not plastic. They were a paper product. Where I had to make holes the material tore and there was not stretching like a plastic material. I think my watershields were made by Repops.

James, I'm going to need a set for our 68 and might consider one for the 69 to have. So yes, I'd be interested and in need of a set. Sounds like you might have a winner. By the way, Chris brings up an excellent point. If a or some suppliers stock and sell them it will be light years ahead of just current members needs at this moment. But either way, I'm still interested :)

How soon are you talking about? I'll be installing my interior this fall and would love a set.
