Well I took the hydraulic lifter cam out of my 69 302 & the only #s I find on it are GM23152, can anyone identify this cam? I'm going to put an original 30 30 290hp cam & mech lifters back in, my question is do I need to worry about valve/piston clearances & valve spring heights?
ps these 2 cams also came with car, can anyone tell me what they are or where I can find out

Shouldn't be a problem - the "30-30" was the factory cam, and used plain old stock springs, same as every other small-block. The '70-'72 LT-1 solid-lifter cam would be a better bet than the "30-30"; has better low-end torque, gives up very little at the high end. The "30-30" has LOUSY low-end torque. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

-346 for the 30-30 cam and -178 for the other cam mentioned.

Does anybody have a fairly new GM Power book so that maybe the other two numbers will show up???

And I have heard of Racer Brown but have no cam spec. info from them... pdq67

PS., and at least 3.73's and better 4.10's for the good old 30-30 cam, imho...
