Hello every one,
I have a 68 SS that i just finished getting painted. When i went to put the front grill back in (standard) the headlight bezels dont fit. Can some one please tell me the differnce between the 67, 68, and 69 front fenders. I just want to make sure that the previous owner did not install the wrong fenders. And in turn me have them painted not knowing any better lol. Thank all of you for your time.

David, you definiitely don't have 69 fenders. Maybe you have Rally Sport fenders. They have an extra bracket for the headllight buckets. If so I'm pretty sure all you would have to do is remove the brackets that are welded on.

Post a pic.

You can simply bend those brackets back outa the way so you have the option to do an rs conversion down the road...

If I'm not mistaken the RS fenders(I believe they are GM RS fenders, correct me if they are not) have the brackets for the headlight buckets mounted further back and clocked different than the std. fenders, that's where they seem to be on the fenders on my car.I had to fab up some L shaped brackets to mount the std. headlight buckets and add a small tab on the outside of the opening for the bezel for the 3rd trim screw on the bezel. The std. bezels fit the openings fine with a std. grill,I do have all GM parts on the grill and bezels. All the required parts for a RS grill are not in the budget so I made the std. parts work.
