: Which mirrors

Which mirrors? Now that I finished major mods (200-4R, '74 Nova 8.5 posi, Classic Auto Air, '88 Fiero seats reupholstered two tone black, Billet AERO fuel filler, tinted 80% rear glass, four Autometer gauge pods, alum rad, etc) I,m driving my '68 Camaro almost every day. Not happy with the orig side mirrors. Thinking about buying the Vitaloni "Californian" mirrors ($80.00 each) in the pix. Not because I'm in California just think they lean out like I want. What do you think? Are there others I should consider.

Wandered over to lateral-g.net and most of the camaros are running 70-73 Camaro side mirrors. Looks and sounds good to me. Off to the wrecking yards tomorrow. Maybe I will find an electric pair!

Actually they are 70 - 81 camaro/firebird mirrors and the passenger is remote and the drivers is manual. I dont think they made them in electric. The ones you will find used will not have very good mirrors / scratches because they are so old. I bought a set of repo OER mirrors and they fit fine.

Both of these cars have the 70/81 mirrors

just be aware when looking that there seems to be a 'tall' set and a 'short' set. Exactly the same mirror, one just has about an inch or so taller stand on it. Guess how I know? :)

So, the 70-81 mirrors bolt right on 1st gen? Is the tall or shorter one better or is it personal preference?

anyone try these on a 67 with the wing windows? wonder if you can still utilize the window?

I did a little research and it seems some guys have had problems with the '67 wing windows. You may have to relocate the mirrors.

The tall set is what came on the mid 70's Cutlass, Chevelle, GTO. You do not want that style.

A lot of folks use the late 80's LeSabre style mirrors. They are electric on both sides and repro versions can be had for cheap.

Check out the Buick mirrors from the 90's. The set I installed on my Camaro are for a 92-99 LeSabre. A pair of power mirrors will run around $100 on eBay. You'll have to do some work on the mount to get it to fit the Camaro's contours, but I think they look great.

I am going to install a set of these mirrors on my '77 Camaro. What did you use for a switch and do you have the wiring diagram?

Terry, curious if you hooked up fiero seats with the speakers in them? Would you have any pics?

tried it on my buddies 67, had to slide them too far back to look good IMO, and even then the vent window hit them when you tried to open it. In mockup, c5 corvette mirrors might be a better option for 67's, they stick out farther, but that allows the vent windows to open with the mirrors forward on the door where they belong.
