Hi - I've got a 1997 z28 which the windshield wipers, for no apparent reason, decided to park themselves at the upper end of their stroke. This started one cold morning; i started the car and used the wipers to clean the mist. They just stopped at the ~12:00 position. I've tried loosening the 13mm nut that holds the blades, let the motor run w/o the blades engaged until it came to rest after powering them off. Still no luck. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks! - stuck in the ice in AR.

You may have jumped some teeth on the gears in the wiper motor. The one on my S-10 started cleaning teeth off the gears last week and I had to replace it. Did the windshield have any frost or ice on it that may have overloaded the motor gears?

Hey Mike I have a 97 Gran Prix that does this every winter, I found that if you turn the wipers on when they are frozen to the cowl or covered in snow they park in the full up postion, after about a day they correct them selfs, talked to some guys with a 98 GP. and they have the same problem.
