While lashing the valves AGAIN tonight chasing a rough running under load issue, I noticed that the passenger side head drips more oil at the back. Actually it gushes more than the drivers side.
I wedge cardboard around the bottom and up the sides of the head by jamming it down between the springs and rail which works great, but every time I do, I get a puddle of oil on the ground at the back on the passenger side only. (I know... cut some old valve covers instead)
I'm just curious why it's the passenger side that does this. Is it just inherent to a GM small block? Is it a negative thing, or could it just be a coincidence?
