: Tires that hook?

I'm running BF Goodrich TA's (50s). I have a 4.10 gear, 3000 stall, and my tires fry through second gear. My question is... how much will MT/ET streets affect my ride compared to the BF Goodrich Drag Radials, and which ones hook better? Or does anyone have any other suggestions about tires that stick?

I drive my car only in good weather, and short distances. No highway driving, only drive approximately 20 miles per cruise. (A lot of street light racing http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif )

I can't vouch for the MT/ ET streets or BFG Drag Radials, but we've had great sucess with the MT Sportsman Pro 26 X 10.5 X 15's. They work excellent on the street, even when damp. The ride quality is just like any street tire, not all squirley like slicks. At the strip, the car turns consistant 1.8's in the 60 ft., so it's not a pansy car. This car has 3.73's and 3000 stall, so from the motor back, our combo isn't too far off from your's.

Have you considered Hoosier Quicktime's. I dont hasve personal experience with them but if your having trouble with your drag radials mabey these would help.

I have run the E/T Streets and they are a great tire. I also have run the BDG Drag Radials and M&H tires, they were better then radials, but not much. I havwe, however, fallen in love with the Hoosier Quick Time Pros. Not only do they hook hard on the street, but I pull a 1.55 60' at the track on them. My best on slicks was a 1.60 60'.

I am also noticing, that they have a pretty good life to them.
