I'm rebuilding my heater box in my 67. I have cut the spot welds and have cleaned and painted everything. The problem is the gasket kit has different gaskets in it than those I remember taking out. I've checked to make sure it's the correct kit. Anyone used one of these kits before? I cant find any info on where they go.

Footer,
I didn't rebuild my heater box in my 68, but I just got done replacing the heater core. I ordered a gasket kit along with the new core from Rick's 1st. gen. I was impressed with the core, but sorely dissapointed with the gasket kit. Most of the gaskets would not fit (yes,it was the correct listed kit for my year). Instructions with the kit were mostly non-existing.

footer, I have some information on my site on heatercore replacement, for a 67 no A/C , while it doesnt cover Gaskets, it has detailed pictures and maybe you could line somthing up,. there are only 4 that I know of, floor vent, the vent to the core, the core gasket itself ,and the defogger gasket.

Hey Chris,
I used your info at your website when I replaced my heater core. Thanks a bunch!! It sure helped. I knew just when to walk away from it and take a break. It was a bear of a job, but with your help I got it. Hope I never have to do it again. Getting too old.
