This thing died again in less than 4 months.I have an Amana side by side ref. with ice maker. It started icing up in the freezer so I replace the the defrost timer and all was fixed. Now its doing it again.could the new defrost timer be bad or something else, it was only $20.

When I had that problem I found it was the DEFROST THERMOSTAT which is a sensor that is locater on the evaporator coil. That is the coil on the interior of the refrigerator. Get the model number of the refrigerator and inter it in the site below. This site has a lot of the hard to find appliance parts

What ever you do.... DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT GET A FRIGIDAIRE!!!!...... there I feel better. Mine was breaking down once every six months (Brand New Unit) and no help from Electrolux (Parent Co.). Went out a bought a Whirlpool GOLD series and never looked back since.

Never had a problem with our Frigidaire fridge. It might run more than I'd like, and the water filters are expensive, but it's cold as hell! I think we got it in 2006.
