hi im thinking seriously of ditching my muncie, but i have a few questions .
1.will an aftermarket auto shifter fit in the manual console?
2.does the brake light switch etc need to be changed or is it just a pedal swap?
3.can i cool the trans with a separate rad/cooler,as my rad has no provision for auto trans?
4.does the drive shaft length change ?i have a th350 to put in
5.will my 308 gears still suck?

my wife says ill kick my self if i do this swap, but something evil is eating my clutches and it might be nice to have a free hand to text with(j.k.)

1.will an aftermarket auto shifter fit in the manual console? Yes - you can put a Hemi on a roller skate if so inclined.

2.does the brake light switch etc need to be changed or is it just a pedal swap? You can make it work easily with just a pedal swap. You don't absolutely need a pedal swap if you can live with the clutch pedal stuffed up against the firewall.

3.can i cool the trans with a separate rad/cooler,as my rad has no provision for auto trans? Yes. Get a big "stacked plate" type cooler.

4.does the drive shaft length change ?i have a th350 to put in No. Nor does the yoke or crossmember change.

5.will my 308 gears still suck? They pretty much suck no matter what unless you have eleventy billion foot pounds of torque.

That something evil eating your clutches is probably that 3.08 gear. Put in a 3.55 and you might get more life out of the clutch.

hemi on a rollerskate?ha .i mean will a mega shifter fit without cutting up console? i thought maybe someone out there may have done this or tried. ive never installed a floor shifter before dont know how big the base is or how long the throw between 1st and park i measured my iroc shifter throw(5 1/2") it wont fit but its a 700r4 so really i still dont know my original console has a 5" opening.

Here's a thread with a few pictures in it, but all for 69s. I don't know much about 67s, other than that they are different. Have you thought about using a stock 67 shifter? As I recall for 67 the manual and the auto both have the same hole in the floor which would make it pretty easy.

I have the same problem with clutch chatter with a fairly new clutch and pressure plate. I have a fresh 327 with m-20 and 3.08 gears and I am tired of repacing clutches and messing with it. I m thinking about putting my turbo 350 in too. Keep me updated, sounds like we have the same issues.
