: which manifold delivers more power??

i have a gm highrise manifold on a 327 and i have a edelbrok performer manifold on my running 283, i am considering putting the highrise on my 283 but i amnot sure if it will give me better power? whaich manifold do you think has more ballz

I beleave the GM high-rise will beat the Performer. I had a 327 with the Performer on it and switched to a Holley 300-36 (copy of the GM high-rise) and the GM high-rise made more power. Not a lot, but it was SOTP obvious.

If you want more power, then a high-rise is the way to go. Just beware that the power will delivered at high RPMs. Great for a 1/4 mile car.

If your talking a street vehicle, then low/mid torque is what you should be concerned with and not peak power. In that case stick with the Performer.

Unless it is a very high performance 283 it will run better with the Performer. You simply don't need the flow of the larger manifold.

yes, i agree. a high rise will make peak power at high rpm's because it was designed to flow much more than the performer. the performer is designed to keep the fuel/air moving quick through its runners at low and mid rpm's
