So, far, I am not impressed with the durability of the trunk spatter paint that I have tried. Even with the recommended clear coat, it scratches easily.

I thought about using a bed liner coating. I figured I could use a black base and then before it dried, use an aqua color and spatter it over that. If they make it in a satin finish, that would be even better!

What does everyone think?

JMO but bedliner material would be too heavy... I used GM rattle can spatter paint maybe 8-9 years ago, used a lacquer type fixative like that used by artists so their work doesn't smudge and it's held up to many many overloaded trunkfulls. Even under the mat has held up well...

I planned on using a thinner coat than usual. I figured that would keep the weight down.

u-pol raptor bedliner on the underside of the car and in the floor/trank pans. It looks good and acts as a sound deadner also. I think more thn a few people use. 1 bed liner kit covered mine like i mentioned. I could of sprayed it heavier but I got the coverage & texturing I wanted by working the areas faster instead of going slow and loading an area up.

Were you able to duplicate a spatter look?
