I am building a 327 bored .060 over with an air-gap intake, full length summit headers, and stock weak heads - I belive they are off of a 67-68 307 or something - 69cc chambers I think. I installed a cam which is 230/230 at .050 with .480" lift. I think that my compresion is 9.0-9.4 (based on a david vizzard book I read).
Is this too much cam? What will the engine run like, and what will the engine do if I add heads?
Thanks,
Ryan

Imho, YES!!!

A CC 268HE is a dandy in a 9 to 9.5 to 1 CR. 327 motor!!!

I'm not going to get into the head stuff or how it will run so will bow out now... pdq67

Not at all IMHO. My neighbors WIFE drives a 67 camaro with a 230/.480 cam and it is a daily driver if there has ever been one. Its a low compression 350 around 8.5:1 and this motor runs awesome. Sounds good too. Aftermarket heads would probably be a big jump in power also

A lot of it will depend on what tranny/convertor and rear gears you are running. With a stock convertor, powerglide, and 3.08's, definately too much cam. But, if it has the right gears and convertor, it will be ok. And, it ought to sound pretty nasty.
