Im upgrading the ignition system on my 69, its an old big ca HEI which i just hate looking at.

Ive decided on the new Pertronix billet distributor with ignitor 3 module, the 60k volt HC coil, and I want to run my plug wires under my headers.

Wires must be black, will all of the universal, cut to fit wires work for this? engine is 327.

Since the car is a street driven car, is there any reason to run mechanical advance over a vacuum advance?

Also, in the future I plan on isntalling a FAST EFI system, will this distributor work correctly with that later?

Thanks

Why not just purchase cut to fit wires? That way you can be sure they will fit as you want them!

Fast has their own brand of distributor that is a trick piece that offers easy install but the pertronix should work fine as do the Msd units.

Have the same distributor and will be going to efi aswell.

If it is for the street you are better off running vacume advance just make sure it is full vacume and not ported as used with pollution contols!

Are your headers coated? They get so hot I would not recommend running wires under them if not. JMO

Just got finished installing the new distributor and coil. I notice a better idle, and a much crisper throttle response of the nasty old HEI. There is also a noticeable improvement at full throttle.

The built in rev limit was set from the factory at 5500, i didnt notice it at all yet, but I have my TV set a bit low. Very happy with this ignition system.
