Bought a hood off ebay and it arrived in bad shape due to a poor packaging. Before I invest more into it I want to know if it really is an original GM SS hood or not. Can you tell by these pics?

I was rear ended yesterday and feel like I went a couple of rounds with Tyson. Purecam - what gives it away, ends of the hood? Sci-Flyer - I'll take a picture of the bumpstops. What makes them different? Have you got any pictures of the GM hoods. My hood also has the spot welded bumpstop washers that look alot like the picture Tim has posted. Give us some pictures of the GM hood ID marks. Well, at least I know not to spend the time it was going to need to get the damage fixed (crushed ends, crease, multiple impact hits around the sides of the hood). I've had some bad luck with hoods. Bought this "GM" hood off ebay- arrived banged up. Bought what I think now is a GM hood off of craigslist, in the dark and eager to get a whole functional SS hood. Used hoods should be free of paint if considering a purchase. Unless you get it dirt cheap and taking a hit is not overly painful. | ||
