Just got a great deal on this intake, and was wondering if this a good intake that will work well on my 396.. No major upgrades other than intake and carb..

Now all you need is some good heads...and a cam!

Yes, great intake. What are you running for a hood? You MIGHT run into clearance problems and have to run a drop base air cleaner.

I have the same intake as well. Holley Avenger 870 under an SS hood. Had to use a drop air cleaner base. Its tight, but it makes it.

I'm running a std cowl induction hood on a 69

It still may be a very tight fit - unless you run that drop base. I also run a cowl hood. A 3 inch height filter will not work without the drop base.

Stock Cowl induction air cleaner is a drop base - should work but no guarantees
