Where do you all think a 3400lbs (with driver) 1969 Camaro powered by 496 producing barely over 600ft/lbs of torque from 3200-5300 RPMs and HP stays a bit above 600 past 6100 rpm with a TKO 5 speed 3:42 gears would be at for quarter mile times assuming the driver was decent. No special drag suspension, just BFG G-force tires with the sway bar dropped? I haven't taken it to Z-max yet but I am trying to guess where this might land? I usually do pretty good guessing while watching Pass Time on Speed Channel but I know there are people on this sight that have been racing 1st generations so long they can probably nail it within .25 sec

Traction will be your main problem. You have the power to run easy low 10's and even upper 9's. You don't have the suspension or tires to put that power to the ground. I would guess you will run in the mid to upper 12's. On a good pass I say 12.40.

OK, thanks! I might invest in a pair cheap rims and toss some slicks on there before I run it at Drag & Brag night. I have Hotchis sport suspension multi leafs and QA1 shocks which is not an ideal drag set up. Its a street car and figured it'll be a delicate task to keep the tires from spinning. Thanks for the input!

The clutch is going to be a big deal with your combo. If you can slip it a little so you don't light the tires up you can get some 11.50s out of your car imo with some sticky tires.

Mid 11's.

Mid 11's to low 12's with your setup and you don't blow to many shifts and can get out of the hole with a 60' better than 2.xx.

With proper setup in suspension, tires, etc the engine can get you to low 10's.
Just not with what your running currently.

The way the car is descibed in the original post I have to be a downer and say 12.8 -13.0 at around 115. Dont take it personal, it just wont make you happy the first time out. I been there.
TRACTION is EVERYTHING!, and I can assure you that getting a stick car to 60ft is not that easy. It took me a while to get where I am, and TIRES, suspension setup, and clutch choice are the keys.
Slicks are the best, but if something doesnt "slip" a little, then something will BREAK. I chose to run a sintered iron clutch, and it has been awesome. It can be adjusted to slip slightly and predictably.
Alternatively, run LOTS of air in the slicks, and purposely spin them to avoid scattering driveline parts.
To give you an example of the damage an aggressive clutch like a spec, or many others can cause - I have a dana 60 with 35 spline race axles - after running the car 2 times at the track with BBC, 833 trans, 28-12.5 ET street tires(dead hooked a few times) I had the diff apart and noticed that the splines on the RACE axles are twisted about .100" !!! across the length of the splines. My 12 bolt never had a chance, neither did any of the GM 4 speeds that were in it, or the 1 mopar 833 that gave up its output shaft.
Once you get the caar to hook, it will run Hard judging by the dyno #'s

A 600+hp engine should get you low 10 / high 9s if the car was set up for the strip. I think with some tire alone you should be in the 11s easy, and if it hooks ok some high 10s if you can bang gears.

I agree with sticky tires 11's are within reach. In the original post, he didn't mention changing tires. He asked for us to guess how the car would run as described. Sticky tires will make a big difference probably .6 -.9 lower ET, but the suspension will still hold him back quite a bit.
