who says it's the worst thing to use? i found it to quiet down the rear axle in my Nova, and make the tranny easier and smoother shifting. pretty sure there's a mpg improvement, as well.

atldc, Amsoil is the BEST thing you can do for you cars engine or tranny or rear end. Who ever said Syn's are bad, do not know what they are talking about unless they are thinking back 25 years when some syn's were made of a glycol base and yes they were bad, but no syns have used that for 20 years now. Amsoil is awesome in cold or hot conditions and will increase mileage, meaning less friction. I use it exclusivly now since 1976. Many folks in here also use it or Mobile one, and there are some others but not always available nationwide.
Go down to Bench section and do a 'search' using 'synthetic' and you can read all the information you could ever want to learn about. If you have specific questions, drop me an email anytime.
Good luck
