hey guys,
Very nice site you have going here, I'm defiantly going to get a lot out of it. But i was wondering if anyone could help me out with some exhaust issues. I have 67 camaro 327, no headers. I put a new duel exhaust system with an X pipe and 2 dyno max mufflers... it was alright but the inter residence was terrible at 2,000-2,200 rpm I couldn’t stand it so i cut them off and went to 40s flow masters smile.gif i defiantly like the tone and aggressive sound but same problem, if not worse. So now i wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions, i want that aggressive sound out of the tail pipes but not in my ears as I’m driving. The z-28's and corvettes have that sound I like out the tail but inside you don’t get that residence. So i was thinking of buying 1 z-28 muffler from the dealer were 2 pipes come into 1 muffler and 2 go out as opposed to 2 mufflers, if anyone has any thoughts or has had the same trouble as me i would greatly appreciate some thoughts, thank you

Are you sure the problem is with the mufflers? I have run both those mufflers (Flowmaster Deltaflow 40's and Dynomax Ultraflows) and didn't have any resonance with either. Maybe you have a pipe that is barely touching something.

oh really, thats interesting... now if a pipe was touching, what would that cause?

If a pipe was lightly touching something under the car it would make some annoying sounds in the interior. Are you running tailpipes on the car, or turndowns just after the mufflers?

tail pipes, oh i forgot to mention there 2 1/4 pipes. I dunno what to do i might just take it back to the place i had them installed and see what they think.

If the pipes are touching the floor pan or the transmission crossmember you can get a vibration that sounds like resonance in the car (very annoying). If you get under the car and look for wear marks on the pipes you might be able to spot a point where a pipe is rubbing. The pipes should be touching only the rubber hangers.
