went out to the track with the car for the first time and was able to get some times and work out some bugs.

here are the specs

67 camaro
355
solid flat cam
afr 195 eliminators
671 blower with 6lbs of boost
2004r transmission built with billet converter and transbrake
9" rear end with 3.70 gear
m/t drag radial with skinnys
subframe connectors

I ran it with 36* timing and a little over 1*/lb of boost taken out. The best time of the day was a 11.45 @120 with a 1.68 60' I left on the transbrake with the 2step at 3500 and it dead hooked

YouTube - First time got a little air on the front wheels

next run i upped the 2 step to 4k and left harder and got more air with the tires, but i blew a belt and couldnt finish running.

my trans is shifting at 5500 which i gotta look at cause i'd prefer to shift just below 7k since i feel like that would be the best rpm to shift

a/f was steady at 11.9 and got up to around 12.1 at high rpm

you guys think there is more in it? Anything thing else I could look at or tweak?

Looks as if you need to do a harder/longer burnout and leave harder/higher RPM so the car doesn't bog on you leaving the gate.

Of course we only skimmed the surface of what kind of combo you have but.. with your weight I would think even with a poor launch would put you in the low 11's high tens.

What Cam are you running? My procharged LSX picked up just over 60 Rwhp by swapping to a blower grind.

i had it custom ground by UDharold. Its a solid flat 247/259 @.50 .540/.560 lift 112lsa

i also got 1 7/8 long tubes with a 3" xpipe to borla xr1 mufflers, a locker, and caltrac bars

You have the trap speed for 11.1-11.2 with a better 60. A bit more boost and a better launch and your in the 10's. Sweet car!

well the car is getting a lot more boost once i have eric68 do my e85 carbs. I just want to get 10's out of this car with this boost level!!

i honestly have no clue. Its a 67 camaro with a sbc aluminum heads and power steering with a 671, a 2004r and a ford 9" There really isnt too much more on it that would affect the weight too much.

Since you asked, what was your reaction time? Looked a bit slow coming off the line.
I think your car is great though. With tuning and tweaking I think you will get in the 10's easy. Don't mess with your boost level til you get the car consistent. It will just add another variable to all the ones you're trying to sort out.

well i didnt take off at the green and just took my time since the reaction doesnt affect the time at all.

im hoping for high 10's with this setup, but with a 120mph, who knows.

Are you sure you left in 1st gear?????

It sounded way soft and took forever to shift. I know a TH200 low gear is not as bad as a 700R but that sounded like a powerglide launch.

I would expect much quicker than a 1.68 60'. I was in the 1.54 60' range N/A running low 11s at 118.

2 things to help, carry your burnout farther out of the box so your hot tires dont have to roll through all the marbles and junk so far and pay attention to where the groove is it kinda looks like your not even on the rubber thats laid down.other than that leave harder, shift higher and put a stick in it!lol! Good job

I think you did dam good with just 6 pounds of boost in that 355ci and not any real big issues. The soft launch will only prove to be a plus when you turn up the boost. Its a roots blower and they make power too fast many times to get a good launch.

I figure with the 6 pounds of boost in a 355 FT cam engine, you cant be much more than 550hp. That is why I am so curious about your weight. I thought the cam was a little big. On pump gas with 12 pounds of boost you should see just over 600hp and with the E85 and a few more lbs of boost perhaps you can reach 650hp. That is a healthy street strip 355ci roots engine. What is your static compression? AFR is a little lean. I aim for 11.2-11.5 WOT

I am wondering how long that 200r trans is going to hold up though.

for some reason my 1-2 shift is at 4500 and my 2-3 is at 5500. I need to go to my transbuilder and have him tweak it for me. So on that run I launched at 4k and shifted to 2nd gear right away. I feel like my engine needs to atleast shift between 6500 and 7000

im guessing probably 450 @ the wheels right now. The plan is 20-25lbs of boost on E85 with this engine after I have eric68 get me some new carbs and get a different blower. its 9:1 comp

with how much I paid for my trans, it should last....hopefully

I knew something didn't sound right. You should see a dramatic improvement in your 60' when you can take off in first.
