Thanks for the help on the heads for my Nova. I Ended up going with the dart iron eagle 180's and they work great. No time slips yet, but can realy notice the extra power. I was wondering what power I might be making. I'm only 20 yo but still hoping for 400+ hp for my daily driver. Not bad for my first engine and still in college.

sb 355
about 10.5 to 1 with 64cc chambers(I think)
zero-decked
balanced
blue printed
flat top pistons
xtreme energy 268 cam (.477''/.480'' lift, 224/230 dur)
1.6 magnum rockers on intake and 1.5 on exhaust
k-motion valve springs
dart iron eagle heads
180cc intake and 64cc chambers
2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves
holley dual plane intake
holley 650 db
accel hei and wires
1 5/8 long tube headers
full 2.5in exhause with x-pipe
super t-10 trans (just installed with the heads)
3.42 posi 10 bolt

Please give hp @ engine and @ wheels if you can.
Thanks,
Dave R.

Thanks for the cool breakdown ONOVAKIND67.
Could I put on a 150 shot with the cast pistons and still be safe???

What pistons are you using? Most cast flat tops have a reduced deck height to keep compression around stock levels with a decked block and heads. My truck uses federal-mogul/trw/speed-pro/whatever you want to call them cast flat tops. With .008 decked off the block they ended up .040 in the hole. With standard fel-pro head gaskets my compression ends up at 9.4-1 with 64cc heads. It would be very hard to get 10.5-1 with flat tops unless you have very little piston to head clearance.
