OK, already know I gotta put a bushing kit in the hinge. I've lifted the rear of the door, I do feel some slop...but seems not enough to bring the back of door up to the proper level, maybe half way. What would you do if I have alignment issues after new hinge bushings?

I do have new subframe bushings to put on
I will go with Hotchkiss Vert subframe connectors
I do have some rust by the driver heels and driver side rear passenger heals.
Will post those pics soon if someone thinks this could be relevant.

the front edge is not too far off

I'll remove the door edge guards too
What to do first AFTER the door bushings?
Floor repairs I do believe before the nasty QPs, right?

George, Once the hinges are repaired, just do the normal door alignment sequence. You will have to move the front end around to match the new door position. If you dont have any more room to bring the door end up, then your rockers are sagging (BIG issue).

OK, suppose sagging rocker syndrome....
can this be aggravated by 'some' floor issues as I described?
would the cure be two shots of vert subframe connectors?

So you are saying try to align the door first then do the floor repairs?
Other side of the floorpan has no metal issues, no sag. But this is the less used passenger side door. More to follow

George, basically the rockers hold the ENTIRE weight of the body in verts. The floor ties things together, but transfers the weight to the rockers. It is common for the middle two I beams inside the rocker to corrode and weaken, which makes the rocker bow. The car will start to fold along the top edge of the door, that is why the top of the door is tighter than the bottom. You need to look at the inner rocker where the floor meets the rocker. If that is rusted out, take a screw driver and probe the middle I beams to see what shape they are in.

Here is a pic of what is inside a vert rocker, exterior is on the left and inner panel (on right) is missing in the pic.

Subframe connectors will help take more of the weight from the rockers if they are bowing.

like Kev said on these verts, you gotta have solid rockers. Subframes will help but in the long run if you have bad rockers you will have to replace them eventually. The vert is missing so much when it compares to the coupe. They tried to help it in other areas like the B pilar supports, x-brace, cocktail shakers, etc.... I would say that the rockers are the foundation (kind of like a house) They hold everything together, supporting the entire weight of the car. Weak rockers and you car could fold in two... or fold up like a bad lawn chair. They are not that expensive to replace. Money well spent in my opinion. Good luck
