With my 327 (see sig) what kind of converter and rear gears should I get? Where should my stall speed and gear ratio be? This is not a 100% daily driver but it is a street car. Any way into the 12's with this setup and not have the car be annoying on the highway?

I'd go with a 10" converter that foot brakes to about 3000 and flashes to 3500 (or more if you can get it).

For gears I'd like a 3.73-4.10 for the track, but if you are serious about long freeway trips you might have to go with something a little milder like 3.42's or 3.55's.

I run 3.55's and can cruise at 65 running about 3500 rpm.

Just my opinion.

EEEK all depends on cam and powerband... higher stall converter will get you moving quicker... gears multiply torque too, but at the expense of hwy rpm. 3.08 gives about 2200 at 60, 3.73 around 2800... 4.11 puts you up to 3200... thats really buzzing. For a street car, stall speed should be lower than your hwy rpm's. A 12 sec. 327's gonna be kinda peaky... not much low end, will want a high stall speed to keep it buzzing. it all depends on the cam...

Yeah the cam is a PAW 230* @.050 with .480" lift. 1.5 lifters.

i am running a 228 @.050 .480 lift cam and a transmission specialties 2800-3200 10" converter and 4.11's in a 9 inch and it has a really good launch at about 2900 and it doesn't act too bad down the hwy...about 3500rpm at 65mph. it kinda all depends how fast you want to cruise down the road i guess
