So I have noticed a couple of 350 blocks on ebay for sale that have application codes on the stamp pad but no VIN stamp. More specifically a 350 date coded November of 68 and has an application code of TIII4HA. Is this a warning sign that the block was re-stamped, or is it possible that no VIN was stamped on the block originally at the factory???

Sometimes decking seems to only remove the VIN. My engine is like this. The VIN may have been stamped more shallow than the assembly stamp.

That time in Oct. Nov. Dec. some VIN's were stamped in the boss above the oil filter, not on the head tab extension. Check out that area and sometimes they are VERY hard to see since they stamped into a rough area of the block.

Thanks guys... the seller gave me the application code. Click was right... It was above the oil filter.

My engine was built the same day and has the VIN on the pad.

Different plants different dates for location. My LA built L35 assembled 1111 vin is at oil filter.
