I have a friend who has a 69Z (my old one) and I have a question on the 01C build date on the body tag. If we look at the calendar for 68 the last week of December is Sunday the 29th Monday the 30th and Tuesday the 31st. January of 69 is Wednesday the 1st Thursday the 2nd Friday the 3rd and Saturday the 4th If we are counting the weeks to arrive to the 01C third week in January do we count the week that has the 1st 2nd and 3rd as week one or is the 5th through the 11th week one?

The most knowledgeable will chime in, but they have said that sometimes there was no real correlation between build date weeks and calendar weeks. My 02D has a March differential and 02Ds can be all over the place. The "build date" was the date the order for the car was entered. There is a ton of info you can find using the search function. Good luck.

I have managed to re-create the Norwood production calendar through March '69 when Firebird production moved there. At that time output remained at 57 units/hour but there is no way of knowing percentages.

Body tag date is at best only a general indicator of when a car was completed. All it tells you is when the tag was punched by Fisher, signifying the release of the production order to build the body. Tags sometimes remained in queue for days. Fisher routinely skipped weeks, releasing two weeks of production on one date. All June cars are 06A.

That is what happened for 01C; there was no 01D. The VINs span 9000 units; almost 10 production days. The first car with an 01C tag was completed on or about Tue 21 Jan, the last Tue 4 Feb.

That brings me to my next question is a cast block of L178 and a stamp of V0113HA still in the right time era. Yes I understand that it should be a DZ block and no I am not interested in faking the block just thought that a date era correct block may be kind of neat. The block today is in excellent condition standard bore and would appear to be fairly low miles should clean up at .20 over, four bolt main and even has a set of L-8-8 and L-9-8 heads. Thanks for the help
Thanks William for the info I would not have come up with that info on my own (much appreciated)
