: 1969 blinker indicators on top of fenders
huggerandwhite Jan 3rd, 11, 05:52 PM Found and purchased a 1969 Camaro Convert sitting in garage since 1974 ( garage find). Loaded with alot of options I have not seen before. Does anyone know about blinker indicators on the top of the fenders on a 1969? Also, factory cruise control and how about a GM bowtie cassette player mounted on the console? Never seen these before, just like to here about someone elses thoughts??? Thanks for your help..

tonycamaro Jan 3rd, 11, 06:15 PM Vigilite monitors, there should also be one over the rear seat. cruise control. sounds like an awesome find. post some pics
Unreal Jan 3rd, 11, 06:50 PM The Vigilite and the 8 track are rare and valuable options. Will you leave it as a survivor, or does it need a full restoration? Does is have the wood steering wheel, or just the woodgrain horn shroud? Sounds like someone when crazy with the option form. Great for you.
William Jan 3rd, 11, 08:18 PM No dealer would have ordered a very expensive car like that for stock. It was either ordered by an individual customer or it was a "Brass Hat" car ordered by the local Zone office.
Fred Ficarra Jan 3rd, 11, 09:07 PM Steve, welcome to TC! You GOTTA post some pictures.
And those Vigilite's were on the first '69 my son owned. We took them off. They looked like they should be on a '85 Mercury. Less than attractive.
Garfields Maro Jan 4th, 11, 01:40 AM Sounds like a classy ride.
From the White Book, RPO U46 Light Monitoring System...1450 units sold, $26.35 :)
I kinda suspect the Cruise Control may be as rare or more so but don't see it listed for 69  Was RPO K30 in 68.....
DX1 hood stripes. What color is the interior ?
Pics would be good.
prostreet69camaro Jan 4th, 11, 03:07 AM Awesome, we need pictures.
Everett#2390 Jan 4th, 11, 03:19 AM Welcome to the CLub, Steve. Nice find.
Pictures?
click Jan 4th, 11, 07:01 AM Im pretty sure that cruise control was not a factory option in 69, it was dealer installed option... you said 'cassette' player, but then listed it as 8 track, There was no cassette player option so its probably 8track. Sounds like a very nice project car, post some pics as soon as you can. I used to live in CB Iowa and have a buddy in CB with an original one owner 69RS in his garage. Welcome to Team Camaro too

Musclerodz Jan 4th, 11, 09:32 PM My buddy had a car with the vigilites, complete and working. My convertible is suppose to have the console mounted 8 track. I have the harnesses for the car, but the player is long gone.

shaugs Jan 5th, 11, 05:38 PM My first muscle car was a 1969 RS/Z I purchased in the fall of 1976. I lived west of Philly in the town of Newtown Sq. I found the car the Bulletin paper (long gone) and it was located in Cherryhill, NJ. My friend Roger took a ride with me and when I laid eyes on the car i was in awe of the color combo, condition and most of the options (BTW this car is also equipped with an 8track). I will say the vigilites -U46 option did not impress me. In fact I thought some knuckle head stuck them on the car. I mean this was a muscle car not a cadillac. Over the years I have grown and like the uniqueness of the option, although it's not one I would add if not originally equipped. Anyway I sold this car when I got married in 1983 so that we could purchase our first home. Below is a link to the story of purchasing it back 27 years later.
