Hey everyone. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but I really need some help on this one. I have a 10-bolt rearend from a '95 Z28 that I'm trying to sell in order to get some cash to put towards picking up a 12-bolt. I know this isn't the place to post a FOR SALE sign, and I'm not trying to. The problem I'm having is that I don't know what the rearend is worth. I'm pretty sure that whatever it's worth, it'll probably come up short of the amount I'll need for the 12-bolt, but it's a start. Anyway, I've tried checking eBay and calling local wrecking yards and I can't seem to get any idea of the price range to ask for. The local wrecking yards all told me that they don't typically stock rearends of that late model. As I said, the rearend is out of a '95 Z28. It's a 10-bolt w/posi, 3.42 gears and disc brakes. So, can anyone out there help me? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Start with the local dealer. Ask the parts department how much a replacement would be. I know this will be an inflated price, but it may give you an idea where to start.

Well, I considered both of you suggestions before posting my question. Best offer will be my last resort, and I'm fairly certain the dealer WILL give some inflated amount, I imagine somewhere in the high $K's, maybe even $2K, but I'm also pretty sure I'd be lucky to get half of that, maybe less! Anyway, thanks for your thoughts so far.

Considering it's used, I'd say start around 1K and take what you can get.......KZ

Around here that rear end would bring around $400 to the right person and $600 with the brakes on it. That would be for someone who went to a dealer to have it repaired and almost passed out when they saw their estimate.
