I recently purchased a 69 RS/SS convertible with a 350 and a M20 transmission with a 12 bolt posi rear end with 373 gears. The car has the stock exaust and it looks like someone added an Edelbrock hi rise intake maniford and carb. The engine was rebuilt about 3500 miles ago. I'd like to do some top end work to increase the overall performance and hp. How much additional hp can you get by upgrading the heads, adding a cam and headers. Also, I'd love to hear from people what upgrades I should do to get the maximum hp increase.

Thx in advance, Pete

There is a possibility that some other work has been done internally. You might want to pull it apart to see. As far as other parts to make it run, good heads are the best investment in my opinion, followed by other parts to let the motor breathe. The right cam, headers, intake and carb. If it's an automatic, an upgraded torque converter that will corespond to your cam and rear gear ratio. Using modern parts, it's fairly easy to make 425 HP with a 350 and that usually will get your attention.

Hi Toby:

Thanks for the reply. What type of heads, intake manifold, and headers plus exhaust would you recommend?

Thx, Pete
