: Turlock Swap meet 29-30th Jan 2011
IRON MAN Jan 25th, 11, 08:33 PM The big two-day Turlock Fairgrounds annual swap meet is this weekend. Should be close to 70 degrees F. Admission is $8 at gate. I bought my '68 Camaro there four years ago. 160 miles round trip, but its worth it.:hurray:
Vintage 68 Jan 26th, 11, 02:18 AM Great swap to start off the season
I've been looking forward to it for a couple weeks, and now I have to be in Texas ... :(
Still looking for some F100 parts to finish off sons's truck.
Several of the 'Valley Boys' usually hit Turlock - hopefully Gary, Steve(s) and a few others will make it out there.
Gary L Jan 26th, 11, 12:32 PM Sorry guys....I can't make it. I will be in Lost Wages for 4 days. It kills me to miss the January Turlock swap meet! Hope to catch up with you in March at GoodGuys.

About that long of a trip for me too.
dreamweaver Jan 27th, 11, 01:44 PM I'll be there... just picked up a new project this week, so I need "stuff & things". It's not a Camaro, though, so don't beat me up.
It's been really foggy here lately... I mean, REALLY foggy. After the sun goes down it's pretty bad so, if you're planning on coming, I would plan for a little extra time.... drive safe. I'll be there by around 6:00 a.m., gone by 12:00 or 1:00. going with my daughter.. her first entree... I bought her her first car, she turns 16 in September, and I am on the hook to "get 'er dun" by her birthday. In for a penny, in for a pound I say :p
Gary L Feb 1st, 11, 06:26 PM So how was it? Any rain?
IRON MAN Feb 1st, 11, 07:32 PM Gary, I got there 7:45 am, Saturday. Took 15 minutes to get parked. Attendants were directing traffic. Swap meet was at critical mass. Tapered off by 10:00 am. Lot's of early Ford stuff. Figures since the swap meet was sponsered by the A's Club. Still, Chevy performance/collector parts in abundance. The weather was dry at 50 degrees F. The Car Corral was full of muscle/collector cars for sale. Was FUN. Saw a sponser or two.
tejasrs/ss Feb 2nd, 11, 11:56 AM so down here in deep South Tejas...they had a first annual car fest, they advertised vintage cars, road course, show and shine and what I was really wanting....a swap meet!!
Mind you I just moved here from Sacramento where I was used to going to GoodGuys in Pleasanton, HAN in Reno and even ventured over to Turlock a few times...
I was soooo looking forward to this event, hoping it would at least be "half" as good as those forementioned events... oh man what a dissapointment! Don't get me wrong they had some bad a$$ cars for sure but the event was small, got done looking through the whole thing in about an hour and a half! I remember GoodGuys... geez my feet would be killing me by the time we got done going through everything!! The "ahem" swap meet, geez I think Ive chucked or donated better looking stuff that what they were selling!
I understand this is the very first year of the event but.... if there's one thing I miss about Nor Cal...is all the car events!! :pout:

This is like 'deja vu all over again' :D
I was just talking to a friend ( yes, I still have some) yesterday evening about Turlock this weekend and said I wasn't sure who was going or when ...
And now this ...
Better go buy a lottery ticket :hurray:
And now - back to last years thread ... :waving:
ps: Unless anyone's going - then let me know when/how/who might be there ;)
I most likely wouldn't make it down until Sun. as G-Daughters BIG 1st Birthday Party is Sat.

John,
Why don't you come down Saturday night, spend the night at my place, and we can head over together? I will have my 49 International down there to try to see if I can get any bites (money to throw at the Scout and "other" projects). A friend of mine is taking it down for me, but I plan on going on Saturday and Sunday too. Maybe we can have a makeshift "intervention party" and get some of the old gang together?
Gary???
Steve('s)???
Royce???
Van???
Dennis???
Bueller ---- Bueller????
Vintage 68 Jan 26th, 12, 02:03 PM Steve - here's the 'new' thread on this - http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=204331
