Those are roundy-rounder tires. They'll work, but not as good as regular drag slicks.

they won't work, they dont have a wrinkle side wall.
And they're used. dont buy used slicks your wasting your money.

We sold all of our slicks after they were one year old no matter what they looked like. The compound goes bad from age. The most common buyers were circle track people.

would these do just for a couple runs while the weather is still good?

"excellent for oval track racing"

they are OVAL track tires, dont WASTE your time or your money with them. They dont have a wrinkle sidewall and will NOT hook.

Don't buy those unless you are going round racing !!

Had this conversation last night with someone who tried similar on his 68.
Street tires 13.3, these tires 14.5. You can't get them hot enough to make them work at the drags.

I used a set of very used McCreary oval track tires in the 1/8 mile before. I had to do quite a long burnout, but they worked better than street tires, even though I never tried street tires. This was on a stock, suspension, 69 Camaro with a stock, 10 to 1 355, 292 Magnum cam, 4 spd, and a 3.31 gear, with open headers, dual plane, high rise intake and a 750 Carter AFB. They were 26 in tall by 8.5 in wide. I would come off the line at 4000-4500 rpm, and sometimes they jump a little bit, but for the most part, they stuck. The car ran 8.40's in the 1/8 mile. The bad thing about them were, they require tubes, and I didn't use them. I just aired them up, and got to the line quickly. I loaned them to my buddy that had a 84Z28 with a wicked aluminum headed, roller cam, small block 355, and he ran 7.30's with them. So from my experience, FWIW, they worked decent. smile.gif graemlins/clonk.gif
