Is there a normal running clearance for pushrods & guideplates. I was always told 0.005" on each side of the pushrod or a total of 0.010" on one side. Is that right?.

The plates will eat them up. I guess this is only a problem on smallblocks as all bigblocks have allways used guideplates. Some of the new stock heads have assembly guideplates on them that aren't true guideplates because I think they use guided rocker arms at the valve tip end. They are just to line up everything until the engine is assembled. pdq67 |
