Hi I have a 69 Z I am going back and forth on the exaust.Should I go with the original chambered or a the new flo master my local parts man is pushing. I owned a 68 396 and it had a chambered system,a sweeter sound I never heard, but that was 18 yrs. ago. Help.

I've never heard the chambered exhausts, but I'd go with them! You can't beat the looks either! I wouldn't think there would be a performance difference between the two. I have a suspicion you already "know" what you want!

I have mufflers similar to the Flowmaster's on my '72 El Camino and it sounds great. My friend just put chamberized on his '62 F#@& and it sounds good. I don't know what I would do, its up to you.

Chris - I posted a similar question on 9/24 and got good responses. Check it out by changing the number of days from 10 to 30. BTW, I've decided on the Flowmasters - cheaper and by all I've been told better sounding/performing.

Just an FYI follow-up on jm69ss. I have the Flowmaster single cross-flow muffler system on my '68. It sounds great, but if I was to do it again I would not use the single muffler system. Even with plenty of clearance and heat shields, the trunk gets very, very hot. I went with this single system in order to try and minimize cabin compartment temperatures, but ended up putting 1" of fiberglass insulation under my trunk mat.
