Tonight "tried" removing my Hooker supercomps and man those things are a pain in the ***! They are the 1 3/4" size. Who makes a nice fitting 1 5/8?
Headman,dynomax,etc??

You gotta jack up the engine on the drivers side after removing the motor mount bolt.

I think it is MUCH easier if you also remove the 3 bolts holding the rubber mount to the side of the block. With the motor mount out of the way, the header will come out much easier. The passenger side basicaly drops in.

I used to run an old set of Eagle headers. They were like $50 back in the early 80's and lasted for years. Fit well, I could get to the plugs, the foot long truck oil filters would fit. Never should have sold them! I would still have them except I sold them a couple of years ago to make room in the garage :(

No more Hookers for me!

Thanks for the reply! Anyone have any experience with Headman elite series? Part #68608. Summit has them listed for $259 and they come ceramic coated. Plus they had a 3/8" flange and 14 guage tubing. Should last forever! The specs on them are 1 5/8" primary and 3" collectors.
