Well hit lvd test and tune and bettered 11.97 at 113.8 with 11.86 at 113.7! Difference was leaving at 5500 instead of 5000 and short shifting 1st to 2nd at 6500 instead of 7000.60 footers were 1.64 to 1.66 on 5 runs. Not sure how much is left with this 9.8 : 1 327! Next week timing and jetting adjustments will shoot for 11.79!!!!! Dead hooking and power shifting attempt 3 weeks ago resulted in bogging and missed 3rd gear.New 330 ft. and 1/8 mile times are now .15 quicker at 4.86 and 7.56!!!! Car is better off with some tire spin instead of bogging 330 ft. 5.0 times!!!!!!!!

No, but a Proform 750 main body would.
Also thats one big nasty cam for a 327, I think a bit milder cam, with less exh. dur., for some more midrange may go faster.

I thought about proform. Are 650 and 750 venturi bores same with diff being at base plate?? Have you seen these proforms pick up 1/10 over 4779 body with milled horn? Do you feel just exhaust is too high on duration?Harold actually recommended his 288/296 f5 cam which has 255/263 at .050 with 105 lsa but i decided to go with his smallest race cam for street. I also leave the 2.5" exhaust on with dynomax turbos!

Did you tell Harold what heads you have? The Twisted Wedge heads have an exhaust port like no other non super trick SB head. A manual trans car can use far more cam than an auto trans car. If you are getting a bog if it dead hooks are you sure there isn't a problem because of the shock to the chassis (fuel slosh etc) It looks like you bringing the ET down everytime you go I would just keep playing until you get to the point where nothing seems to help before making a major change.

Have a chance to borrow a friend's HP 950 holley carb!! I heard venturi size is same as 750. Assuming this would maintain velocity like the present 4779 750. Any opinions on this 950 HP going quicker than last weeks 11.86 113.7 mph run on my 9.8:1 327 with 5 speed??? Also for curiousity thinking of dropping the 2.5" dynomax exhaust to see if e.t. is there also! Any opinions are appreciated as always. thanks, AL

I run the 2 1/2" Dynomax turbos on my truck, but havnt uncapped it yet, but I dont think youre loosin much, my guess would be 1tenth/1mph, lots more if its not a manderal bent system.
I think the HP950 will work on your 327 since its a stick, but I've never used a HP950 on that small a motor. You'll love the throttle response and drivability! but may have to tune the squirters and cams, so theres no bog - but thats what the clutch is for. Try it, its on the large side, but if you keep the rpms up, it should run faster. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
