How can I identify a 1969 Z/28 carb http://www.camaros.net/forum/confused.gif? It is lost among our collection of other parts and may be on our 1969 Trans Am http://www.camaros.net/forum/wink.gif (one of those almost done prodjects, started long ago http://www.camaros.net/forum/tongue.gif)
Thanks.

Check the number on the air horn, it should be 4053 DZ and it also has a date code showing year, month & day.

Look for "3923289-DZ" and underneath that, "LIST-4053". The date code will be under those numbers.

i have one if you want it. a friend traded me a holley carb that he didn't know much about, for a 650 double pump and to my surprise it was a factory 780 cfm r-4053 with the "dz" stampings on it. i hate the thing. i can't get it to work correctly on my 396 and i don't just want to junk it because of the factory stamping.but i have to use it until i can afford a 850 double pump.
