I have seen several sets of headers that have been dented to supposedly clear the steering box.Is this a comon problem? I want to order a set of Hooker super comp coated headers and do NOT want to have to pound a dent into high dollar coated headers.
My car will be a 406 sbc with power steering.The headers will be Hooker Super Comp
1 7/8" coated.

I didn't have to dent my thorley tri-ys 376Y1-Cs. In fact, I've got about 1" between the box and header tube.

I'll second that Dave. The Thorleys have clearence where you would never think.....right where we need it the most.
