I looked overthe flyer are they saying you can't leave until 4PM? How strict are they on this? Are there any speed bumps? How early would a guy need to get there to have a chance at decent parking? Any other pointers?

They would rather you stay but you can leave when you want. From about 2:00 until about 5:00 hwy 1 is a parking lot and it will take you about 90 min to get to hwy 92 to make your escape. We stay late, bbq around 3:00 - 4:00 and leave about 5:30/6:00 with normal Sunday traffic for a lower stress trip home.

In the morning by about 9:00 the place is getting crowded all though the last couple years it wasn't as crowded as usual...

Turning off the hwy into the airport is the only place I recall having any dips and I don't recall any speed bumps at all...

lol...naw I usually bug out at 2:30-3pm...I get there at 6:30am...I park near the south exit and go through the harbor of Princeton...Then I proceed north up Hwy 1, (south is a parking lot most try to get to HWY 92 but if they take a 20min drive north they can get around it by going through Pacifica) Royce, we usually meet up at the Linda Mar Safeway parking lot in Pacifica just this side of devil's slide @ about 6am...Let me know if you are coming and I will try to save a spot for you next to us...:)

Thanks for the information, I'm going to have to figure out something. For me to get there at 6 would require me leaving Vacaville at ~4:30, I don't think my neighbors would be to happy with me, lol. For this same reason I wouldn't want to be "forced" to stay too late, I kind of like Mikes schedule.

I guess I could always get new neighbors, lol.

Royce- Just remember...It's one way in and one way out...You can leave when you want but it is a parking lot on Hwy 1 to Hwy 92.

OK I'm in, a couple I know from Vacaville wants to take their truck down there, so it looks like I will be waking up the neighbors early on the 1st. As the event gets closer, I'll iron out the details.

My plan is to leave Vacaville at 5:00 AM. That should put me near the show about 6:00- 6:15 i'm guessing. Does that sound ok? So far I know of two other cars drivig down from Vacaville, I will be with a couple in a 69 Chevy step-side (raspberry color). I have a few loose ends to take care of on the buick, but it should be ready to go. I'm looking forward to the show, not so much the drive down and back, lol.

ok, my dr appt got pushed back until the 2nd so it looks like i might be able to make it. a couple issues though. I really hate traffic. i do not like to sit in traffic for any period of time so driving on 92 is really going to bite. what times can i drive there without traffic both there and back.

Also, i need another driver for the other 69 that i just bought.

The earlier the better of course.Coming in won't be bad over 92.
But I would head north and go over Sharp Park road going home.

Early.. about 7:00 to 7:30AM and on the way out... maybe 4:00 but I would say more like 5:00pm if you do 92- Mike has a different way out-Maybe talk to him about the ride home- I'm headed to SJ on the way out- 92 is my only option.

Angel our club will be hitting 92 @ 280 about 7:20 or 7:25 as we have for many years and there is some traffic but it keeps moving until just before the airport on hwy 1. It's all 2 lane so there is always the occasional vehicle making a left turn across traffic that can hold things up. From there it depends, sometimes there is a line on the hwy to get into the show and other times it's drive right in and get in line at the airport. As Mike will tell you, the earlier you get ther the less crowd to deal with.

As for leaving, Mark already covered it, when the show starts thinning out our group starts hanging out at the cars and we light the BBQ's and hang out until they are starting to empty the trash cans. Even then it's Sunday on hwy1 so it's slow going but not like if you were leaving at 3:00 where it would take 30 minutes to drive past the airport. Mike buggs out early but he goes north on hwy1 not south. I don't know what 92 is like around the time he takes off...

Angel, give me a call on my cell...just come down Sharp Park road and meet us @ the Linda Mar Safeway at 6am...We are heading down with about 10-15 other cars...I park near the south exit so @ 3pm or so we shoot out that exit and head thru the Princeton harbor and go north at the light on HWY 1...never a problem...The key is to get there early to secure your spot near that Exit...if you get there late you are locked in because of the crowds and cars...Because the show made the front page of the SF Chronicle this morning, and the great weather, I expect over 30k people this year... Much bigger and better than any GG show...and best of all, all the $$ goes to charity...

Do your best Royce, if you are running a little late, just head to the show and we will try to leave a spot for you...If you can't bring the Buick head down on the bike or truck...you will enjoy it either way...Plus it will be good to see you and catch up...:)

Well the Orange Crush is not going to make it, do to a radiator leak.... It was so nice out today i decided to knock the dust off the Camaro to have her all ready for the show. After filling her up with gas, We went on a little cruise and man she runs so good...

So i get her back home nice and safe in the drive way, ready to shine/massage her all up... Then i notice a little dribble of coolant coming from the radiator (tank/weld).

Oh well!!! I put her all back on the lift and covered her all up and now that just adds one more thing to add to my wrenching days...

Still gonna try to make after my sons Base Ball All Stars tryouts.

Didn't make the trip guys, didn't get home until late Saturday night, looked up my route to Half Moon bay and saw it was a 2 hour drive not 1hour like I thought (grew up in the east bay and forget I don't live there anymore). Leaving at 4AM and going solo didn't sound like a great idea, I just put the tranny back together Saturday afternoon and it was un tested.

I ended up going to a show in Benicia that was very nice bout 500 cars. I was surprised to win 1st in my class 1958-1962 car. I was bummed I didn;t get to go to HMB, but that made it a little better.
