I don't think rock auto has a narrowed one. I think the detroit speed is a ricks tank.

yea didnt see one at rock auto, detroit speed is narrowed but did not say anything about sumped? Are there any tanks out there that dont cost 1000 bux? How much does a stock tank need to be narrowed to clear the springs ? anybody got pics and measurments of this,Thanks

Call DSE and see what there tank measures. Then you will know how much to narrow it or maybe someone will measure theres.

Summit or Jegs sell the sumps.

Now you would have to buy a new tank and have each side narrowed and the sump added. It will probably have to be heliarc welded which will be time consuming and pretty costly unless you can do it yourself. Hopefully it doesn't leak.

Now see what the cost will be between the 2. And a stainless steel tank will not rust.

I talked to Ricks tanks today and he can fix me up with a narrowed and sumped tank for my car for a good bit of cash if no one else has any sugestions? How many people cut and weld up a stock tank with good results?

I am finishing up on my custom OER replacement tank conversion for my 68 camaro.
I took a new tank and welded in a sump box for a in tank walbro 255 pump.
The sump box has supply holes in the bottom and is spaced 1/4 inch from the bottom of the gas tank.
I also am using a stock sending unit and fuel line assembly for the fuel return line.
Some of the tack welds were done with a mig welder but the bulk of the welding was done with a tig welder.
