I own a 79' Camaro With a 305 and auto trany. I was wondering is there any "trade secrets" that I could try to improve my performance. I work in auto shop at school for 2hrs. a day and I work at home so time isn't an issue.

Install more gear in the rear end. That will do wonders. Also try some exhaust, from the cat back. Other than that there is not a lot you can do since your car is still must pass emission testing every two years.

Take a look at the same year Z/28 air cleaner with fresh air snorkel.
When floored the engine draws COOL air from the snorkel attached to the radiator support. That should add some power.

put a curve kit in the dist you will be amazed how much this little trick will let the car pick up also advance the timming to 12 degrees turn the air cleaner lid upside down and put 1.6 rocker arms on it you can do all this for around $100.00 and it is worth every penny

Whats a curve kit? It goes in the distributor? What does it do to the spark or distrubution- or whatever. How much do they cost and where can i get it?

Hey Redline,
Read the post on here from Ignition man. This has been a hot topic lately, and yes recurving dist helps.
