Whats the deal with Professional Products intakes ? They are mega cheap and look ok from what I have found on-line.

http://www.professional-products.com/

Any users out there ?

For example, one vendor sells a vortec head compatible polished "performer" style for 125.00. Jegs wants 240.00 for a Edelbrock polished Performer. Pretty dern cheap..

I usually believe you get what you pay, is this the case here too ?

thanks.

I have no personel experience with Pro Products. I have read on another website that one guy has tried the pro products single plane intake, victor jr., and team g and all were within a tenth of each other. He did say that he had to do cleanup work on the runners and he matched it to a 1206 gasket. I think he was running in the 10 second zone.
Ive read similar stories on a couple other websites. One other thing Ive heard is the outside of the intake is pretty rough looking casting wise.

I Bought mine because it was and in expensive polished intake and I too had to clean up the runners. All in all, the Intake was pretty nice and performed a little better on my 327.

a few pics are here:

I bought a similar intake, not sure if it was this brand, had to spend a couple hours with a die grinder, but it turned out quite nice in the long run.

i got an air gap intake for my small block, it was alright, not quite the quality of an edelbrock or holley. i had to grind some to get some bolts in, but other than that it was good.

I have their Air-gap and love it, maybe the runners were a bit rougher than an edelbrock but I usually port match them anyway
