This is the first time I am really getting into cars I am more into the 4 wheeling with jeeps kinda think but this is more for my friend anyways he has a 90 camaro rs v6 automatic I know almost nothing about this car accept that it is really uderpowerd for a "sports" car so he purchased a 92 camaro rs with the 5.0 v8 auto tranny thinking it would be an easy swap when I looked at the car seeing as I will be the one to do the swap I noticed that the 92 is carburated and his is fuel injected. So I guess what I am looking for is how hard is this going to be seeing as I know nothing about camaros but I have done tons of work on jeeps and fords trucks that is and they also have been all fuel injected so I really dont know a whole lot about carburation. And alos if this swap is resonable what mods can I do to the engine to give it power. thanks in advance.

Actually, the 5.0 should have a TBI setup, not a carb. I assume that the V-8 car isn't fixeable or driveable (wrecked?)? It should be pretty straightforward since you have the whole donor car. The biggest hassle will most likely be the wiring harness and computer. Personally, I would just sell/trade the V-6 car for a V-8 car...early 90's models are coming down in price and that is an awful lot of work for no more gain than it will provide. JMO.

It is a carb not fuel injection and the car is drivable its just missing the hood and the front clip.

If it is a carb, someone previously went to a lot of trouble to set it up that way. The last carbed V-8 camaro was what, '86 or so? Sounds like the easiest thing to do would be the body work on the '92. Heck, if it needs a hood you could step up to a fiberglass cowl hood easy enough.

actually, there were some carbureted v8 Camaros at least thru the 87 model year- and maybe even into 88, but am unsure. i do think the 350 that was used in the Caprice cop cars was the same as the "low perf" Camaro 350 in those years.
