I got a set of Competition Engineering weld in subframe connectors and wanted to know if I would have to do any modifying in order to make these work. The car has the original leaf spring set up.I got moroso trick coil springs for the front and rear and also CE 3 way adjustable for the front and back too so I thought subframe connectors would be good to get too.

You'll probably have to cut the floor pan out a little to have the connectors fit in right.

You should probably use solid body mounts too. Rubber mounts flex and would put stress on the welds where the connectors tie into the subframe.

You shouldn't have to cut the floorpan. I've seen several welded CE bolt-in connectors and there was no floorpan interference. Agree on solid body mounts too.

sorry if I gave you the wrong info, but most bolt in frame connectors differ, from the weld in ones, and most of the ones I've seen had to have a small amount of the floorpan removed, so that they fit in correctly.

Do what I did on my '80...buy the CE bolt-in connectors and then after their installed, just weld the front end to the subframe. this way you don't have to mess with the floorpan.

No, Bruce was right. You have welded in connectors. You will have to cut the floor up to get them to fit properly.

I just installed the bolt in CE connectors in my Nova. They fit up good with just a little bolt hole work at the rear mounts, and was against the floor at a few places,I bolted the connectors at the rear and welded them at the front.Looks to me it would work fine that way.

I agree. My C.E. bolt-in connectors fit great on my 69. Very snug fit but no modifications reqd. Why don't you use them and then just weld them in on the front?

EVERYONE!!! LUKE805 HAS WELD IN CONNECTORS!!! The bolt one's are great and fit fine, But the weld on connectors require sectioning the floor AND YOU MUST USE IT WITH THE REAR FRAME RAIL KIT FROM CE. I looked into it and decides not to buy it because you have to replace the rear frame rails. Look at their website: http://competitionengineering.com/catalog/CategoryDisplay.asp?CatCode=10054

Look at the * by the part number.

Well,it looks like I blew it.I'm not gonna cut up my car just to put in these connectors.I don't think it even mentioned these necessary modifications on Summit's site, where I ordered them from.Oh well, just one more setback with my camaro.I guess I'll get bolt in and weld them up,maybe sell these ones if I'm lucky
