: Which carb for this combo?

I am not sure which carb to get for my combo. The combo is:
GM 350
Trick Flow 23degree aluminum heads
Scorpion 1.5 anodized roller rockers
Comp 268XE
performer RPM intake
dynomax cerama coated 1 5/8" headers
TH-350 2500 hughes stall converter

The car is pretty much my daily driver for now.I'm going to replace the rear end/distributor and carb. I am considering I was wondering if some of you could give me some opinions and some info that might help me decide. The carbs I had been considering were a holley 3310 750cfm vacuum secondary, a 670cfm street avenger. Any other suggestions that anyone thinks might be good would be appreciated. Also I don't know much about distributors and was wondering if someone could explain to me about setting it,like the springs, etc, to make sure I'm getting close to maximum performance out of it. I know this isn't a wild combo, but I'm just trying to get as much performance out of it as I can. Thanks for your help.

I am probably getting an MSD ready to run distributor, I was wondering if I should get the HEI version or just the regular pro billet? What is the main difference? Thanks

with that combo you wont be turning enough rpm's to need the pro billet, go with a good hei and you will be fine. most decent hei's will turn 6000 with no problem and your cam shoud make peak around 5400 so you will be fine.

the problem is I can't fit a regular HEI, my points setup is really close to the firewall as it is, the MSD is a small cap design.

Just get the MSD ready-to-run or the #85551 with a 6AL box.

Carb, for more street use, 670 Avenger, strip/street the Holley or Demon.

I'm leaning towards getting a ready to run, I just was wondering if there is much of a difference in performance when running a box? Also would it be worth the extra $$$ to buy the MSD HEI ready to run, rather then the ready to run pro billet?

I have heard of several people having problems with the ready to run distributor. One guy in our club had one and it would crap out on him every once in a while with no warning. One time his car died, he called a tow truck, and by the time it got there, his car would start. He replaced it with a different MSD dist and an MSD box.

Thanks for mentioning that Gheatly, that reminds me, about 5 years ago when I put in my 350 I had bought a ready to run distributor and it ended up going out on me too,I think I will go with the distributor and run a 6AL box, might come in handy if I switch my car over to a manual transmission ;)
