who makes 18cc dished forged pistons for the 383 with 5.7"rods?any preferences?
the motor will be n/a for now but might see a small blower someday.i would like to build for a 6500 redline though(n/a).the bore will be .040-.060,should i try to preserve the block by using hypers?or is that unreasonable considering the rpm expected?
tia!

Just about everyone makes some thing close to -18cc should be easy to find.

I like SRP personally, but ProTru looks like a really good deal (comes with rings and wrist pins for about $480). Then there are the new Speed Pros (lighter weight material than the old TRW slugs).

ps. avoid hyperutectic pistons at all costs!! Especially if you plan on a blower !!!

SRP makes some that are 16cc dish... I think they run like 500/set

Eric,
Just thought I would mention that every single "new" Speed Pro piston I have seen has weighed close to 20 grams MORE than the old comparable TRW number. Go figure ...makes it a real pain when trying to replace a single old style piston. Some of the weight is in the pin, but the pistons have been averaging close to 15 grams heavier by themselves :(

Wiseco pro-tru forged pistons are what I run (ran, more like it  ) in my 388. Very nice pieces. I gave $420 for mine and they came with a set of hastings moly rings. www.dirttrackthunder.com (http://www.dirttrackthunder.com) has about the best prices on them.
