Folks which intake gasket are you using with the 200cc pro topline heads.?Another question is ,I have a 1016 brodix dual plane intake and want to match the ports to the heads,The ports on the heads are much taller than the intake, will I mess up the flow of the intake by removing so much matierial from the top of the intake ports??

i run pro's 220cc head on my 406, and intake gasket sizing is an issue with them. pro's ports are a lot taller and a touch narrower than the average design (a good design imo), so just about everything i looked at (fel pro, mr gasket), was not a perfect match. my suggestion, esp. if you are port matching the manifold, is to buy the gasket that pro sells for the head (get a couple), its sure to match pretty well, and will give a more accurate pattern to match your intake to. i ended up using a 1206 fel pro, but dont like the match, its close to tall enough, but too wide. it does however work. when i get my new intake, i'm ordering several from pro, so it will be a better match. as for port matching the manifold, do it. i'm not familiar with the brodix, but if it has plenty of meat up top for porting, you'll be fine. just make a nice even, smooth (no smoother than 80 grit though) blend in the port, and don't leave any ledges, if anything, keep the intake manifold port just a tad smaller than the entrance to the head, ledges opposing flow are bad. and by the way, if you havn't run those heads yet, you'll love them. i really like mine, they work great. good luck, hope that helps

Ditto what 68rs406 said. try the Felpro 1206. The height was correct for the Pro Topline 200's, but they ARE a bit too wide. They still sealed good and too wide does not restrict flow or create any problems.

So I need to leave the head port like it is,don't match it to the gasket, but make the intake port the same as the head port. Is this correct??

As long as the intake port opening is smaller than the opening in the head you should be OK. In other words, just make sure their isn't a step going into the head.

There might be a little HP to be gained by port-matching the intake to the heads, but its not a lot. If you decide to port match I would start with a gasket that matches the port opening on the head perfectly, both height and width. You might have to use the Pro-Topline gasket to do that. Then port the intake to match.

When port matching avoid opening up both the intake and cylinder head to fit a particular gasket. When you do this you create a buldge in the head that will hurt flow a little.
