i would try pulling the carb apart and cleaning out the main jets and metering blocks, and while you are at it replace the plugs and test the wires. but it kinda sounds like a fuel problem...like old gas build up after storing it maybe??

Yeah, I would guess some water in the fuel too. Get a good ole can of STP gas treatment in there and it may take care of it.

Does it have old gas in it? That could most likely be your problem.

Hey Pooch, What style of air filter do you use. I had my car stored and when I finally took it to the track it was falling on its face. Come to find the foam style air filter had deteriorated and was blocking the airflow into the carb. Good luck, Hope its simple.

I'd try changing the fuel filter too although oftain over looked they can be the cause of grief

If it has been sitting a while, check your gas tank for setiment too. Your filter will usually tell you if you have some. If you do, get it out by any means...unless you like changing your fuel filter a lot.

Also, I've never had a good experience with running Mallory stuff mixed with MSD stuff. JMO though, and probably my wiring job. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Old gas will sometimes foul plugs, leaving a conductive coating on the porcelain. If nothing else works, try new ones.

ok changed filter and drained fuel prior to storage.
but forgot to drain bowls on carb.
so I think it might be gummed up mains.
