I've a 1984 Camaro Berlinetta. 305 V8, mostly stock, with the Rochester E4ME "feedback" carb on it. I've rebuilt the carb (it's a pain!), replaced O2 sensor, coolant temp sensor, removed the catalytic converter, removed the A.I.R. system and disabled the EGR system, as well as checked for vacuum leaks. The coil, cap, rotor, plugs, and wires are all less than 25,000 miles old. When you first start it up, it runs great - it will come up to tempature, run beautifully, drive perfectly, and so forth, until you've driven it about 7-10 miles or so, and then from that point on, whenever you stick your foot in it, it'll lurch and miss and spit back thru the carburetor. It only does it after you've been out driving for a while. I'm out of ideas, I hope someone here has a suggestion - this thing is quickly becoming a money pit.

Honestly I dont no much about factory stuff but I try and give you a few ideas. Maybe the carb is getting hot and causing the fuel to "boil" into the engine causing a spit. Another thing to look at is the advance wieghts in the distributor, Ive seen alot of them get gummed up and stick open or closed and make the engine run like crap out of nowhere. Probably not much help there but those are things I would look at. Since you rebuilt the carb and it was a pain maybe during the frustration you missed something, alot of things can go wrong with the slightest mess up on a carb. My clumsy self has done it many times unfortunetly.

Check the pickup coil in the distributor. Many cars of that vinatage did not allow vacumn advance until the engine warms up. Once the engine heats up and the vaccum advance is working the pickup coil moves to adjust timing. If there are broken wires in the pickup this movement causes a missfire.
