New to this site-non Camaro question if thats OK-I do have a Camaro though,
Our 71 SS 454 had a booboo to its recently(within last 3 yrs) painted hood.
Long story short it has small dent and a couple of very small scratches from an object that fell on hood from above in my garage, and of coarse it had to happen on a dang body line. Needless to say that those objects have been removed from garage but the damage remains to the vehicle and will be fixed shortly.

Anyhoo-my questions are below for the experts and possible claims adjusters that may be on our TC forums here.

-What should I look for in a body shop that will be repairing this small dent and scratch?
-What questions should I ask?
-What should I be listening/looking for when my Insurance adjuster speaks and prepares an estimate?
-What should I be listening/looking for when the body shop adjuster speaks and prepares an estimate?
-How would/will you or a body shop fix this correctly?
-How should a body shop fix this correctly?

Marc welcome to TC. I understand your concern over the damage to your car, but understand it's only sheet metal, it's not an arm or leg. That is a simple fix for any repair shop worth staying in business. I'm sure you know of several in your area that have good reputations. These days they match paint with computer a computer program that in my experience works very well. Inspect the work before you pay, and don't accept the car until you are satisfied. It wouldn't be any different for the chevelle then any other car you would need to take in for repair work.
