Did the rear quarters to inner wheel wells have some type of a seal? My car gets dust and sometimes I can hear sand kifking up in the trunk area.

Spot welds. I'm not aware of any chemical type sealer used at the factory but you shouldn't have a gap anywhere that would allow anything to get into the trunk

Do you mean the outer wheel wells?

You can check to see if there is seam sealer along each seam. If not, it's easy to do and there are some great posts and threads on here showing you exactly how to do it. The most basic way is with a regular caulking gun and a tube of seam sealer that can be purchased local to you at any auto parts store inexpensively. Paint supply shops will have higher quality two-part seam sealer available if you choose that route too. (better)

I remember sponge like sealer in several places on my car in areas of rust. The outer wheel house to quarter and the dash to cowl are the places that seem to come to mind. I'm planning on sealing these areas while the car is on a rotisserie this time.

Yes, the outer wheel well area is what I was talking about. Should the rear quarter to outer wheel well area have seam sealer in it?

I just took a look at the car and the right rear wheel well are has a good size gap 4-5 inches long so I cleaned up the area and filled it with 3m body sealer.
