Hello
My camaro is a 305 vin E. Automatic transmission.
Here is the problem. When the key is turned to the start position nothing happens. I jumped the solenoid and it turns over but will not start with the key switched to on.
I have checked the neutral switch. I cant find the starter enable relay. I think this may be the problem.
Here is something else that I dont understand. I can jump the starter solenoid at the fusebox on the starter wire and it turns over till I turn the key to the start position and it stops. Why is that?
does the start circuit need an input from the ecm?
Thanks.

Your starter relay is mounted under the l/h kick panel on the drivers side. You will find it just below the hood release cable. Does your key have a pellet in it? If it does, then you have a VATS(vehicle anti-theft system) installed in your car. If this is the case you have one of the following conditions. 1. blown 10 amp fuse for the VATS. 2. worn contact points in the ignition lock for the coded pellet. 3. the pellet itself might be worn. 4. the wire going to the VATS module from the ignition lock might be disconnected or broken. 5. the VATS control module might be bad. If you are interested in troubleshooting your problem, I have the wiring schematic for your model car.
Hope this helps you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
